DST participated in the 2024 Canadian Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems (CUAS) Sandbox at Suffield Range, Alberta, Canada. Organised by Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), the goal of the event was to test cutting edge solutions to defeat Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS).
DST engaged with both CUAS innovators and DRDC scientists providing valuable insight into several emerging areas of CUAS technology, including defeat of drones using lasers. The output from this activity will help inform NZDF stakeholders and acquisitions projects as well as shape DST’s CUAS research programme.
